The plot got old real fast, the action sucked becuase evrything he "killed" was a robot, no matter how alive it looked it could be breathing for all they care!, and I'm tired of the excuse that they couldn't show it because they would get in trouble with censors. BULL CRAP! It was shown on the same network as Kenshin, which showed blood, and had profanities in the middle of the day. Plus they never finished it.

Actually, they moved it to the more "mature" timeblock farely late in the series. Otherwise, it was shown amongst daytime cartoons, and they had to do it to prevent the corruption of young minds.

Besides, it was awesome.

Still, even AFTER they moved it to Toonami, it still had 100% robot killing. I would't be surprised if he killed Aku and he blew up! The enviorments/characters were non sensical, I mean seriously robot slug tusk? Anything that wasn't a robot was still alive after the fight (excpet in one case where that viking guy wanted him to kill him, but even then....sub par) or was unbeatable. I could write better stories that would actually go somewhere. The animation was nothing to gawk at either. Music score was OK at best. The scotsman was a lame secondary character, he never even seemed to get any closer to Aku either, another portal, another season of nothing!

I suppose, but that was the point. If Jack succeeded the first attempt to go back, the series would be way shorter. And the animation was supposed to be kinda avant-garde.

Also, the scotsman didn't have to get to aku, cuz he's the scotsman.

I didn't say anything about the scotsman getting to Aku, And I didn't mean that he only needed one portal, its just whenver he got to one, it never seemed like there was any clue that it would get him at least a little closer to his time. I mean as an example, if he knew this portal would get him 2 portals closer to home, then there would be some story structure, instead of just making them hella random. I'm not saying that Aku is bad villian, I liked his design and all. He just needed a little more evil tendancies, his schemes just need some work thats all, telling kids stories to make them like him? His best scheme though was trying to use Jacks sword against him with all those zombies, I have to give him props for that cuz he couldn't of known it wouldn't kill Jack. I'm not saying that the series was unwatchable, I'm just saying it really doesn't deserve all the awards it has got.

yeah, but i guess it was so praised cuz they made what was meant to be a kid's show as dramatic and as anime-like as humanly possible at the time.

i'm not saying it's as good as Avatar, but it isn't horrible.

Not horrible, but given the chance I wouldn't watch it. I like Avatar though, not as good as some of the animes I know, but still good, now THATS a show where the story actually goes somewhere!
